What We Do
At Read&Lead, we use a body of research called The Science of Reading to teach and prepare children from an early age to become fluent readers who can read with comprehension.
We use a robust phonetic foundation to equip children with the skills necessary for reading. Our curriculum, Logic of English, developed by Denice Eid, makes use of the 5 strands of reading to children on their reading journey – to learn more about this approach, click HERE. Children develop a love for reading when we expose them to a variety of interesting, age-appropriate fictional and nonfictional texts during read-aloud and guided reading groups.
Read&Lead uses a play-based approach to make sure that kids enjoy and grow both socially and academically.
Peer-to-peer learning has shown greater success than teacher-to-student learning which is why we use a student-centered approach in small-group lessons.
Students are assessed at the start of the course to facilitate individualised learning.
We engage in physical, creative, logical and musical activities to cater to individual learning styles, while also creating exposure to other styles of learning.
